BBC Annual Meeting and 30th Anniversary!

Please join us to celebrate Broad Brook Coalition’s 30th anniversary and Fitzgerald Lake Conservation Area, attend our annual meeting, and hear featured speaker Laurie Sanders, as well as a reading from poet Kathy Fiveash. Plus refreshments and more!

  • 4:30 pm – Social and refreshments
  • 5:15 pm – Business meeting
  • 5:45 pm – Kathie Fiveash reading from her new book, Broad Brook, poems from Fitzgerald Lake *
  • 6:00 pm – Laurie Sanders, featured speaker, on History of Fitzgerald Lake Conservation Area

This summer Laurie Sanders led a walk focusing on the economic, social, and environmental history of FLCA. From colonial times to the damming of Broad Brook in the late 1980s that created Fitzgerald Lake, the 850 acres of FLCA have undergone momentous changes. Laurie is the co-executive director of the Northampton Historical Society and a longtime friend of BBC.

Copies of Kathie Fiveash’s book, Broad Brook, poems from Fitzgerald Lake, will available for sale at the meeting for $15 cash or check with proceeds going to Broad Brook Coalition.
